"For once in a race I did not focus on getting to the finishing line as fast as I could, but only the half-way point. There was a nice little prime for first person at the half-way point, and since that part of the race was more or less all downhill, it seemed quite tempting and I decided to go for that. I ran so fast, my feet kept slipping on the smooth tarmac on the bridge and my windpipe was sore for the rest of the evening and the whole of the next day. But I got the prime. All good. Darcy and Adam had, once more, organised a great race."
"I had a fun time with this race - it felt old-school and small, and I managed to push myself harder than I expected. I should have dressed warmer. Thanks very much to all the volunteers, I have to imagine it was no small effort to make the event happen and it seemed to work seamlessly well."
"I thought the race went well and had a great turnout. It was my first Take the Bridge and first time going across the Williamsburg Bridge. While it was not a PR for me, I enjoyed the race and had a good time. It was nice to meet and talk with other Harriers and runners. Hopefully it won't be so cold next time."
"Take the bridge was great! Aside from the chilly start and some stiff post half marathon legs, things went pretty well. I did let myself very caught at the end for an unfortunate photo finish situation, but overall happy with what I assume was a two mile pr. Good after party pizza!"
